Flowers long-pedicellate; sepals persistent; petals longer than sepals, delicate, white; stamens 6; carpels 6-9, free or basally connate; ovules 2-many, apotropous. Fruits follicular, triangular, adhering basally, forming a starlike structure; follicles beaked; seeds sculptured.
